From dog shows Nuusku has 5 x BOB, 5 x BOS, 11 x BOB-vet, 2 x BOS-vet, 2 x BIS-vet, 3 x BIS2-vet. He’s been BIG4 and BIG5 once and has a CACIB from Finland and a CACIB and a RES-CACIB from Sweden. Nuusku became a Finnish Show Champion in 1999 and Swedish Champion in 2003. In summer 2005 he also became an International Champion. Nuusku enjoys shows, because he loves people, especially when they pet him. So no matter what the show result is, the judges are among his best friends!

Nuusku, officially known as Int & Fin & S Ch Standard-Bearer Neptunus, is an 11-year old (born 25.5.1996) Welsh Springer boy. Nuusku is my first own dog and has a really lovely temperament. It was Nuusku who made me interested in this breed in general and all the doggy-hobbies you can have with this versatile breed. Nuusku and my hobbies include dog shows, bird hunting and blood tracking.

Nuusku has retrieved maybe two hundred birds and is a reliable retriever. He has a 2nd price in the open class in spaniels’ hunting test, but these days he’s mostly spending well earned pension times. Of course there’s still time for duck hunting every autumn.

We started game tracking trial in autumn 1999. The first test in spring 2000 went really well, as Nuusku got 48 points out of 50 and the 1st price in the open class. After that we have been to tracking test once ot twice a year, but lately have given up this hobby because of lack of time. Otherwise Nuusku is an accurate tracker, but he can’t resist the smells of the real game.

Nuusku is a very happy and sometimes even a too friendly dog. He thinks everyone loves him, so he loves everyone back!

Nuusku has had five litters so far: the first one with Alexway’s Lola was born in summer 2001 and the 2nd one with Rocbee Margaret Rose in February 2002. The 3rd litter with Eastfarm's East Of Eden was born on 5th June 2005 and a bitch puppy Eastfarm's Home To Daddy "Friida" from this litter moved to Iisalmi for the co-owners and my joy! The fourth litter with Standard-Bearer Urban Legend was born in September 2005. The latest litter was born in November 2005, the mother of the litter is Fin & Rus Ch Dirlian Nice Surprise. Some of the offspring we already know, and we have been closely observing how these “little-Nuuskus” grow up. Nuusku has A-hips and has lived a healthy life so far.
